I tried a rough looking dorm room for my first attempt. I find that I sometimes struggle to draw free hand straight lines so I'll have to practise that more.

Love the poster! It looks good without using a ruler! I have the same issue too when doing this free hand. At times I wanna say SCREW IT! im using a ruler, but nah I never do it lmao!
@bovine_designs
I wanted to do a room that wasn't straight on, I used one of Steve's examples. I definitely did a lot more than just boxes but I was having fun 😁

that sink placement make me audibly laugh lol

I really enjoyed this project, it was very helpful for my shape and line quality practise. I gave all my animals names that I thought would suit them too!

I took a longer than expected break, but I'm back with a retry of the simple animal portaits, after watching the demo. I prefer these much more than my last ones. Will be moving onto level 2 next.

Nice, you did well using more closed shapes this go around 👍
@gecko_cs
This is my first attempt at levels 1 and 2 before looking at the demos. This is the one i've felt the least confident with. I struggled with some to visualise the shapes and get them right, focused too much on the proportions, and felt some of my old habits coming through. I also didn't feel I got creative enough with level 2, and that I was focusing too much on them looking good instead of having fun. I will definitely be trying these again after watching both demos.

Very nice !

Wow. Your shapes are so dynamic and have so much form to them. These are great for this assignment. Continue to push the designs and iterate to your heart’s content. You’re running in the right direction. Keep it up!
@gecko_cs
My attempt at both before looking at the demos, started off simple with both as I've always somewhat struggled with organising lineweight. Any feedback is appreciated :)

Very eye-catching. Nice variety of thick and thin lines
@gecko_cs
I tried all 3 of the examples again after watching the demo, it helped me a lot to understand the process and better understand the subject. I've also tried to improve my line and sketch quality using some of the other lessons. I've done 3 more of my own sketches, including a picture of my gecko. I feel I've already improved a lot with my lines and mindset, and welcome any criticism to continue improving.

Wow. Very high level drawings for this assignment. The way you ghost in your lines and only use dark marks where it is necessary is perfect.

I decided to create a grumpy vulture. I have always enjoyed drawing simple characters with emphasis on shape and expression, so this project was right up my alley. This was a fun challenge as vultures have such a unique look, and it was fun incorporating his natural slouch into his personality. I struggle with perfectionism and tend to overuse my eraser, which can be seen in some of these, and I know the point of sketching is to explore, so I want to get out of the habit of that. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I sketched all the level 1 references, thought that I was a bit too clean and detailed with my first girl so did another to properly focus on just the shapes and the flow. Tried the same with the other 2, I especially liked my penguin but struggled a lot with the hand, and had to try it a few times. I struggled with the size of the fingers relative to each other and making the hand too static. My last attempt was definitely the best one though. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I tried the snail and boots for a start. Was interesting to focus on the lines and their intent rather than use shapes. When I finished the first boot, I realised I had no more space for second, so I knew I'd have to work on planning my drawings and anticipation size. So, for my second one, I started with a rough outline to ensure the size of the boot before adding detail. Very informative exercise!
