Hi, I've got a pretty simple yet annoyng problem - brushes glitching in Photoshop. I'm pretty surprised that I've this problem since my gear is at good lvl (i7-9 gen, rtx2060, 16 gb ram). I generally have this trouble with some advanced brushes with very low "intervals" setting (~1%) in the brush settings. The lagging dissappears if I increase the intervals setting. Does anyone else, with a powerfull hardware, have this problem? is there any a solution to this?

Hi, I'm looking for a critique for my last piece. I feel like I'm having troubles with shading properly with the crosshatching technique (I think I also press too hard and lines turn to be thicker in some places). May be somebody has some advice for me

Hi Eleftheria, your technique of translating the traditional graphite quality to digital is gorgeous. For this critique I referenced Proko's original demo of this foot pose. The Lateral Malleolus (ankle bone) has a flat side plane which is rounded in your drawing. In the muscle/tendon design lecture he emphasized flatter, plane forms for tendons and bony landmarks. Exploring contrast/exaggeration between round shapes and flats could be interesting for a dynamic sculptural effect. For boxiness, remember that the gradient of the shadow is higher contrast between lights and darks to imply a sharp plane change. These "painterly" digital brushes are free on Artstation: Aaron Griffin, Rutkowski, Craig Mullins (goodbrush), Satish Kumar Best of luck!

thnx for the critique, I've got some of thgose brushes, though Grzegorz Ritkowski's brushes are not free + I've worked a lot with some good free brushes and also made my own so now I've got a pretty good library (though there's another problem now, the library is so big now that I, sometimes, get lost within the diversity of brushes that I have :))

is it possible for digital photoshop brushes to make as realistic appeal as the trad once do?

okay, but then I end up an ugly drawing and start hating myself for it and get demotivated. and one more question - what do I do if I struggle with carrying the original idea through the rendering routine to the final stage. by the time I workout the perspective and gestures etc I just loose the original vision and just "let the stream carry myself" which ends up leading me, sometimes, far away from my original vision. p.s. by da way, why not all the the poster contest entries where reviewed???

Hi everyone! God, all of the submissions are so cool and creative, I'm jealous +_+ Here's what I came up with. It's about a condition called maladaptive daydreaming that I had as a form of escapism in the past. Nowadays I just use it to fall asleep. I was worried that the image is getting too busy with details and it will be all over the place, and honestly I'm not sure if I was able to avoid that in the end xD but anyways, it was a great experience overall, and I hope everyone had fun as well!

HELLO everyone, here it is my movie poster. I tried to create a poster for a sci-fi movie, which would be center around a journey between planets, self-discovery and improvement. Those were and are topics of great interest to me, especially anything related to astronomy. Since I can remember, I have been fascinated by what is out there, but more recently I have been on a self-journey and try to understand myself, so I decided to combine those topics into a sci-fi movie. Hope you all like it.

Oof thought I wasn't going to make it, so close Was a bit hesitant on going for a more gloomy tone but it's a theme that speaks to me a lot and hopefully I was able to properly communicate it! Hope you like it!

OK this is it I'm done now :P This is inspired by the movie posters for 'Loving Vincent', Studio Ghibli films and a bit of Alice in Wonderland. Influenced a bit by the watercolour artist Thomas Schaller. Aiming for a kind of whimsical vibe. I would say I spend most of my time in my imagination than anything else - and trying to paint clouds because they are hard :P Painted with watercolour paint. Please feel free to critique it!

hi, I just got an idea regarding our "clouds discussion". you could've drawn the rabbit shaped cloud instead of drawing a rabbit on a cloud. this would've eliminated the problem with designing cloud shapes for you in this piece :)

STICKY GIFT (2021) When moving sticky notes guides this young woman who strives for being an artist along with her swan helps her remind herself of who she is by going to the past, solving out mysteries before her birthday, 14th of June. Hello! I'm Oliziette and this is my movie poster for a movie that will tell my story on how I become who I am. It's an adventure, fantasy, action, a little bit comedy here and there, and mystery type of movie. Why it's called Sticky Gift, like what's so special about the Stick Notes? Well, I use it a lot and it has saved me so much in my workplace and myself, not only as an artist, but MAINLY in my personal life. I'm quite forgetful person, and i have to remind myself all the time. Now, there was one time I made like a past > present > future thing. Being an artist has changed my views in life, but even so, I had to remind again to myself that it's okay to fail and to take a breath whenever I know I start to panic over mistakes, failures, and judgements. It helped me so much to get through all of the stories again that I had in the past and get me back to the present to change the future. Also, Sticky Notes has become my friend at some point hehe. The "Gift" one? Well, I'll leave the theories on you guya for the mysteries hehe~ (Actually.. it's kind of obvious though ahaha). So enjoy this poster I made that shares about the journeys on how I got here, along with my two little companions: a swan, and my little Sticky Notes. I had fun while making this, so I hope all of you had fun and are having fun making yours! Goodluck 😊

Hi everyone! This is my submission for this month's Proko challenge. The poster is for a drama about people and decisions - think indie movie that is being shown at foreign festivals with a plot that is meant to make you think. Painted from scratch in PS.

by the way, I'd love to get a critique on this one, if anyone is willing to give one. my main trouble with this one was that even when I had a properly done perspective and basic values, I couldn't figure out colors so they turned a bit messy. + Idk how to design clouds, so if anyone has some tips for me, I'd appreciate them a lot

Nice study @eleftheria_arts! There are some proportional issues in your figure, and I think they are exaggerated by the fact that the torso was drawn and rendered so well. The first thing I did was enlarge the head a bit and then tilt it back (I forgot to mention that I happened to have had the reference of this exact image on pinterest haha). The left arm (viewer's left) was made to small, and I think this may have thrown off your proportions for the legs. I enlarged that left arm to match the proportions of the body, then lengthened the legs and enlarged his feet just a tad bit. Making sure to double and triple check your proportions before moving into a full render is a good way to save yourself some headache from having to fix these when you're further into the drawing process! Hope this helps!

wow, thanks a lot for such a strong critique, I see the main problems there (I was aware of the legs problem, but wasn't aware of the left arm disproportion). thanks again, I'll work on my mistakes :)
