Hi everyone, here is my selection of 5 thumbnail for this month's challenge.
I've painted with a limited palette of watercolors used as gouache by adding white gouache to them.
The colours I've used are:
- Yellow Ochre
- Hansa Yellow
- French Ultramarine
- Phthalo Blue GS
- Venetian Red
- Sap Green
Thank you for this challenge, it was great fun painting these and I've become much more confident in the process.
All the reference photos were taken by me.

These are all my 20 attempts for this challenge. I was about to pick the best 5 of them, but it is my understanding by reading some comments that we are now allowed to post more than 5.
The lesson notes say that we are supposed to submit 5 thumbnails, so I'm quite confused about the official submission request for this challenge.
Anyway I hope you'll find these thumbnails interesting: a couple of them are duplicates because they didn't turn out as I wanted and I repainted them, they might be useful for who is stuck where I was!

My first 8 attempts, with photo references. I had no idea how much effort this challenge would take, but the process is great fun! Any feedback is much appreciated.

Here is my submission. I took some photos from my winter holidays as reference for this one. The colours in these look pretty similar so I've attempted to paint thumbnails in 5 different colour choices.
Even if I struggled with adding too many details and zooming in, this exercise helped me focus more on shape design and lighting.

Very well done! They are very clear to understand yet they are rich with variations

Here is my first subject. I didn't realize how small 2"x2" is! I'd like to try a fuzzier/less detailed style for this challenge. Just to catch the essence of a place.
