Hello Jeremy, pleased to have you here! My name is Ned and I am an aspiring freelance illustrator. I would love to make images for card games such as MtG and/or make promo material (illustrations) for games like DnD or online videogames as well. My question is about getting the first art job: should I aim for the top and send my portfolio to big studios like WoTC? Or should I focus more of my energy into making an online presence and let smaller companies discover my art organically? If so, how should I market myself/ on which websites best to post artwork to cater to potential employers who might find my work specifically relevant to their project?
