HANDS PART 2 Finally finished with HAANDDSSS. I struggled a bit with the shading. I wanted to do more, but this lesson took nearly a month to finish...I'm kinda sick of hands. Looking forward to moving onto legs!! Critiques are always welcome!
For the record here's my assignment, where we had to draw the hand over the hand bone lesson. For the first two you can see some of the skeleton underneath the tracing paper and where I deviated from the skeleton which didn't look anatomically correct to me. For the the third one the skeleton didn't look anatomically correct at all, so I just gave up and drew my hand in the right position.
Hi @matt barton, Nice! I think it would be nice if you pushed the contrast between light and shadow. When inventing lighting, using the halfway to black method could help, to get realistic values. Check out this video for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49VKDhngQQA I agree with @Nicolas CATALDO Scott Robertson's books are great, but they are also pretty advanced. Dorian Iten has a course here on proko The Shading Course – Fundamentals of Realism, Light & Shadow. He breaks down the concept of shading in a digestible way, that suits all levels. So if you're new to shading I would recommend starting there Cheers!
