Fun assignment!
I also tried to draw from imagination without looking for reference pictures for the different parts of the sea lion. There are anatomical mistakes... Anyways, the inspiration was the sea lions' show at SeaWorld.

I decided to draw this one before watching Stan's video. So, I only used measurements for the "box" containing the head. After watching the video, I know I shouldn't have...
I used the pencil to judge a few angles (should have or not?) and then I eyeballed everything else. I had an hard time placing the nose and in fact it's off, and consequently the mouth.
I had to go over my drawing with a softer pencil to get a good picture and to transfer it to Procreate.

I drew alongside Stan but I got most of the proportions off. Strange thing, when I look at the drawing, it doesn’t look that off or bad. That tells a lot about my ability to see! When I double-checked the proportions in Procreate, I used the length of the face (hairline to chin) as my fixed points.

For this assignment I chose Mauro Belfiore, Eliza Ivanova, and an another Italian illustrator named Bruno Brindisi, who has been one of the illustrators of the Italian comic book called Dylan Dog, “The detective of nightmares”. I used to read it in the 90s (yeah, I’m old) and I’m really attached to this character and his adventures, gory, dark, and yet full of humor. In the drawing with the mummy, I decided not to spend too much time copying exactly all the bandages and chose to just get the gesture of them. In the second drawing by Brindisi, Dylan Dog is wearing the clothes of the other character Brindisi has worked a lot on, Tex Willer, from another Italian comic book series. I chose to draw this one because it’s more like a sketch than a finished drawing.

I don't feel like I'm a L2 student but I gave it a try. I never draw from imagination so this one was particularly difficult.
It's a sloth doing yoga...
I'm also posting the L1 assignment.

The boots laces were the most difficult part. I'm very curious to see Stan's solution. The vertebrae were difficult too.

Much harder than I thought! I filled up many pages and got slightly better but I still need a lot of practice. I found out that a sunflower-like drawing is an helpful exercise too. 💪🏼

The hardest part was using only 5 values. In general, I have an hard simplifying and grouping the bigger planes of the head. But that was the point of this assignment, after all! :)
The Dalí-Bot takes care of your pet, tries its best to help at home, and makes only Dalí-like art. It's not wise to contradict a Dalí-Bot as it is not fully sane, by design.
The past two years have been even more surreal than this bot...

This is a digital drawing done with Fresco. Besides line quality, my big problem is doing meaningful abstractions, especially in the shaded areas. In fact, I also find hair particularly hard to draw. I would really appreciate if anyone could advice on how to do abstractions (besides “just try” :) ). Thanks!
Since when I was very young, I have always felt like I was a stranger in a land I don’t completely understand, completely at ease only in nature.
I have people I love, included a lovely son, I have friends, and apparently everything is fairly fine in my life.
Though, even if over time I have learnt to adapt, I still feel I don’t completely belong.

I can relate a lot! Good to have art as an outlet.

The setting is the Old Far West. They are facing each other… the tension is high! One of them is going to hit the ground soon and it’s probably going to be me! I’m on a slippery ground! On the bright side, foam bullets are not too bad for teething.
I decided to do a parody of the poster of The Good The Bad and The Ugly: I had a lot of fun with this project! I have literally laughed my way through it!
Personally, my real challenge was to meet the deadline: I made it and I am already happy!
Thanks to Proko team for the amazing content and quality that you all have provided in all these years!

Great Brushes! I experimented with many and had so much fun. For this drawing, I mainly used a couple of charcoal sticks, the general pencil, the smudge gentle soft and the kneaded eraser.
