Can someone help me here, on a pose like this I really don't see the relationship between the two, and sometimes the bean is draw with the bottom overlapping the top, and the top overlapping the bottom, and I don't know why?

Another question, the model here isn't bending forward or backwards but the bean here seems to be leaning backwards?

How exactly do you know when you are ready to move on to the next exercise?

Asked for help
hey guys, I'd love to find a circle of people that can help me on this art journey, honestly I think I have a lot of internal motivation but the issue is I don't know how to actually practice, like there is so much decision fatigue. Every course doesn't really tell you how to actually practice, and it's kinda just like 'just draw' which is good for some time, but then through the journey I'll hear there's a right and wrong way to practice, so then it's just really confusing For this course it is a lot better but I'm not quite sure when I should move on to the next lesson or just stay practicing everything from the last lesson

practicing the figure drawing examples, not sure what I should be practicing exactly, not sure if I've completed the assignment or not, but I've heard to get better we have to repeat a lot so I guess repeating the examples will help

I did some 2-minute and 30-second gestures. I find that I have a hard time getting the proportions right. I'm hoping to get a critique on them so I can improve. I've attached some of the reference pictures I used. Thank you.

First, if you are interested in becoming a professional, listen to the video "How to Train to become a Successful Working Artist" by Jeffrey Watts on youtube. I've listened to it four times in the past 6 years. That's how good it is. Resouces online I've used are: CGMA, Schoolism, and New Masters Academy. I'd say New Master's Academy has been the best value, with content for every skill level. Schoolism is great for advanced students, but not great for learning fundamentals of drawing. CGMA is great if you like taking classes in 8 week chunks. They have a whole foundations course on there. If price is a concern, just remember that you pay in time or you pay in cash. Mentorships can be really valuable as well. With many artists, you can either pay for an 8 week mentorship or they'll have an ongoing mentorship. It's not cheap (I pay $350/month for mine). But compared to art school, it's much more affordable...and the one-on-one environment is great

"pay in time or pay in cash" I mean are the courses on New Master's Academy that good, I feel like you need to 'pay in time' regardless to develop a skill but I am interested in if there really is a difference in the quality
