Training Yourself to Draw From Imagination – Peter Han
comments 1
Hello everyone) I've just drawn this character design of a boy for a children comix (children 6-12 years). This have to be a short educational comix, main character is a 7-9 years old boy. Little readers have to relate themselves to him, so he will look like an average child.
It total, it turned out not bad, but something looks off.... especially the foreshortened part of the body (left leg and arm). I can't see what exactly is the problem.
Could you please have a look and tell me where I have a mistake?
LESSON NOTES
Peter Han is an incredible artist, instructor and the author behind the well known art book “Dynamic Bible”. He joined us at the Proko booth during this year’s Lightbox Expo to record a few demos. In part 1 he talks about training to draw from imagination while drawing a dwarf and hog. He’ll take you through the thought process behind constructing a fantasy character while explaining line work and adding shadows with ink.
If you’ve been enjoying the 12 Days of Proko be sure to subscribe and hit that bell so you don’t miss any other videos.
