The most well-known advice about values is that we should keep the light value range and the dark value range clearly separated. How does the local value of an object fit into this? eg: should a black cloth in the light also be lighter than a white cloth in shadow? Or should we design separate light/shadow value ranges for each type of cloth?

I usually get into trouble with value's. I never squinted i was to focussed on the details. These techniques make it look so nice. Thank you for the livestream.
