This project is a demonstration of starting with a fantasy prompt, using reference to sketch, and building up an idea as it unfolds into a finished painting inspired by old masters such as John Singer Sargent and Joaquin Sorolla.
Starting with reference sketching, this video showcases an explanation of a fantasy portrait based on Dungeons and Dragons. This is a companion video to the real time version of the painting.
