@Jon Neimeister Would you recommend this course for someone that is new to drawing all-together and plans on focusing primarily on digital (procreate)? Or, is this course designed more for artists that are already skilled in traditional media, but want to learn digital? Thank you.

Where has Proko been my whole life?! In all my years as a digital artist (self-taught) I just didn't notice the smudge tool has different brushes, I feel unbelievably stupid right now.

How do I bind the eyedropper shortcut to my stylus? @Jon Neimeister

Sorry to butt in, but…You should be able to go into your settings on you stylus (assuming you have a Wacom) and set the buttons to a modifier. The setting will be on your stylus device settings, and not inside photoshops settings. Hope this helps.

Hey! These lessons have been great! I feel like I am getting more and familiar with my software (CSP) each week. Question for @Jon Neimeister and the community as well. For those of us working with a screenless tablet, will there be some lessons or exercises for getting accustomed to our tool. Specifically geared to getting over the disorientation of the hand eye coordination required to use a screenless tablet. If there answer is no, are there any resources you know of that can point towards (either in a lesson notes section, in a future lesson, or here on my comment). I know the obvious answer is "use it and eventually it'll come to you." but I figured I would ask anyways.
Thank you Jon and community!

Hey Jon! Thank you for tips! I used a circular object to trace and it came out right, but I will keep an Eye out on it. I instantly got to doing those exercises you recommended and it is helping, so thank you again!

Thanks, Christopher! Glad you're enjoying the lessons. :D
I think the biggest thing is really just experience and practice. It's a slightly disorienting way to work at first, but after a few months of practice it should be pretty intuitive. You might try drawing a daily page of lines, ellipses, and boxes to develop your muscle memory.
One thing you might check is in your tablet settings you can set whether your tablet stretches its drawing surface to match your screen's aspect ratio. A simplified example: if your tablet is square and your monitor is widescreen, it may be stretching all your brush strokes horizontally, so if you were to draw a perfect circle on your tablet it will draw a stretched ellipse on your computer.
Usually there's an option to turn this on or off. Neither way is better or worse, but each artist has their own preference.

Been playing around with the brushes in the brush pack. Trying to break the habit of using one brush for everything

Could we have more classes released for those who want to learn sooner?
2yr
We're going to be releasing the lessons approximately every week or two, with some longer gaps in-between the four major sections of the course.
The first part of the course will be a mixture of Photoshop lessons and painting lessons, and in part two we'll be digging really deep into painting theory. We don't want to release those episodes immediately, as the course is currently "live" and we want to give everyone a chance to ingest the information and (in later lessons) do the assignments. I do apologize for the frustration this may cause for intermediate artists who are already familiar with Photoshop, but we felt it was important to lay this groundwork in the early lessons.
And, like Oleksandr mentioned, there is still useful information in these early lessons for intermediate artists! Photoshop, and other painting software, is quite complicated and there's lots of small but helpful tricks that many people may not know about. I've been painting with Photoshop for almost 20 years and am still discovering new and useful features about it!
If you have any other questions please feel free to let me know! And @ me so I get notified. :D

I doubt it, and from my experience, it's not about how fast classes get released, but how much you practice, if you use the week in between each class to practice the new one and revisit the older ones you'll be learning much quicker than by binge watching all the classes one after the other.

I like to remap my most used shortcuts close to the home keys so they're easier to press.
F = brush
D = eraser
S = mixer
A = move
G = lasso
Q/W: Change brush size
E/R: Switch brushes

I'm a beginner at drawning, but I hope I will became a greater creator after this course. Of course it depends on my practice. I'm glad I found this course. Looking forward for new lessons.
