My level 1 assignment, although I think I ventured into way more than 5 values. I believe it is important to stick to 5 values but maybe I got too excited and focused on details, wanting to have something "finished". Before the graphite one, I also did value blocking with markers. Generally, I see improvements for myself (sorry, I haven;t submitted assignments before but have been following since the pre-sale of this course 2 years ago!). I find now very curious how I am impatient with the graphite, leading to dubious quality of hatching. To make a drawing like this takes a lot of time and I still have this urge to just do many drawings rather than spending hours on one (the graphite sketch took 2.5hrs over 2 sessions and it could use more). I guess patience and control are the next things to learn :D

Pretty bad quality of the photos but - followed along the live stream plus a couple of extra poses (3min), though I can see how I stopped applying what the live stream was teaching us :D

Would anyone like to join me in a study session type group chat? We'd meet every few days, watch the lessons, critique each others art, and so on. I'm only level 1 in this, and my line art isn't great, but that's why I want other people I can have conversations and critiques on each others art with, so I can see where I need to go and be kept accountable for doing the lessons. Dm me if interested.
I'll be quite keen to do that :) I often miss the deadlines for the assignments, even when I do them so a group study session every few days would be nice. (also level 1)

Level 1 assignments. It was so much fun that I can't stop finding more animal pics to draw.
