I did one with charcoal and graphite. He can erase through charcoal so smoothly lol, does anyone know what charcoal he uses?

This looks great! In an older video he mentioned using Conte 1710 HB, B and 2B Charcoal Pencils

Nice drawing! One suggestion -- I think his face could be a bit wider. We can see a bit more of his right cheek and eye in the reference photo :)

Here are my assignments! It was first approach to draw with ball point pen, and I enjoyed a lot. I think I should focus on gestures more.

First attempt before watching the demo and then second after watching. I really run out of patience to measure all correctly and it is very obvious looking at these drawings... Also I occasionally get confused with the levels. Need to focus on simplifying. Also I have too much of the highlight and light halftone. It is too bright... On to third attempt.

You can really see improvement in your second drawing! I feel ya, measuring can be a bit tedious but it certainly helps with proportions when drawing (I know this was more focused on the lighting though) :)

Nice! Yeah this was a great lesson. Have you tried flipping the photo of your drawing horizontally (as if viewing it from a mirror)? That helps me see it with "fresh" eyes so to speak. This looks great but some of your features seem to lean slightly to the left :)

Here is my assignment. I took the picture of my daughter. Actually I not only added the new lines in every next step but also made corrections in previous ones when I saw I have made a mistake. I don't know if it isn't against the rules of this task. Precise measurements are not my strongest side but I did my best! :)
