I join the wonderful world of drawing and painting in 2018 and have loved it since I stepped in. Nice to meet you!

So , what are you making sure you have here , or what are you thinking that's keeping you on track for animation as opposed to a static drawing?

Is it ok if I try to learn every feature like really good from different directions and then draw them all together or should I just draw the whole face but with not very good features?

I would say whole face not good features is way better. the effect of seeing a face is made more by the whole then by its parts.

Sebi from youtube asked : is something wrong if i learn each feature separately? And practice them separately from different directions.(eyes, nose etc) And then draw them all together. I know to make a face but not features.

AKASH YADAV from youtube askes: approaching a single object with well organized 5 values is relatively easy, but how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values? Restatement of question: how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values?

I had it looking a bit better at one point but couldn't get it back lol, well, gotta start somewhere :) I used my hands and a little metal knob, knob wasnt working too well so it ended up being almost only hands.

You often mention the mental and spiritual aspects of drawing so you might be interested in this tidbit. To me Meditation is an attitude. When a thing pops in the mind you do not put in an effort to suppress it and you do not put in an effort to make it play out further. I think that practice gives you a benefit which is somewhat like sleep. Question: What is meditation to you and how does it relate to drawing?

When it comes to size , you can compare one size to another and get a proportion- as such you dont have to match the size of what you draw but can instead match the size relationship. This is generally accepted to be true of size but do you find the same to be true of value, chroma, hue, angle, roundness, ect... ?

If you were doing a live model would you do study sketches first before moving to color? To study keys, tones and structure..Etc.

I almost for got the most important one - Secret number Zero: just as size has a proportion, so too is there a proportion of value, chroma, hue, angle, roundness, and softness of edge. As such, just as you can scale the size of a drawing so too can you scale the other visual phenomenon. That is to say you don't have to match hues for example but can instead match hue relationships.

secret number one - vision is actually 2d. secret number two - go wall eyed and look at the whole image at the same time. secret number three - form is actually part of the sense of touch.

Hey, I'm an artist wannabe and wanted to know what a style is exactly? I've been told not to worry about it but I still want to know what it is.

Style is what you decide to leave out , what you decide to include. Its also what you decide to change. It will occur naturally because you will tend to include things that you like and leave out things you don't. You can just keep observing nature and painting/drawing what is moving/inspiring to you and the style will naturally appear. Some people make up a style for themselves by using only certain types of shape or certain proportions - that type of style is more like a formula that you place on yourself and then force you drawing/paintings to adhere to. at least thats my idea of what style is.

I like that you can convey form from imagination. When you draw do you experience form as a sense of touch? I saw painting with paulsen on time where he taught us to "see like a blind man sees"
