The process of accurately choosing colors is really tough. I find that most of my wasted time is going through and trying different colors until I get one that looks (somewhat) right, and doing that quickly while also examining the reference... it takes a ton of focus. Really tough, but powerful exercise!

This week's assignment was really challenging - for me, time was the biggest hurdle. I can get down the basic colors and shadow fairly quickly, but refining the painting for the subsurface scattering, smaller details, and contours takes a REALLY long time. Most of my paintings from this week were done in around 2.5 hours. Lots of awesome paintings in here already, very inspiring! Here are mine - Done in Procreate, trying out different brushes in each one.

Trying out different brushes in Procreate. This assignment was a huge jump in challenge, but after getting over the initial hump it was pretty fun.

Nice!

I spent around 45 minutes on the first one, then re-watched Jeremy's demonstrations and aimed for about 15 minutes on the rest. Done in Procreate with the tuperntine brush, which was fun to try after getting used to it! Also, I felt like the cast shadows were tricky to get right, oddly enough...
