Hi there. About two years ago I started this great course and I never neglected gesture drawing ☺️ Here are some actual ones

Dayuum! These look great!

Wow. I don't know how, but this ended up being one of the hardest challenges to judge. You guys did great with this. I couldn't pick 1, so I picked 5 winners! And there were way more that came close. The winners are: @Zoungy Kligge @Ihsan Azrael @uwushane (instagram) @_leiondavid (instagram) @randalrobertsart (instagram) Congrats, you all get a free course. Please email support (the help button on the bottom right) and let us know which course you want. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm very thankful for all of you and the support you've shown me and my team throughout the years :)

awesome!

More animals in shapes. I decided to give myself a goal and move on once I get there. I am on 6 out of 20 Animals.

I like your drawings, I'm gonna try the "goal" idea too! (genius)!

2022/6/10. Heyo :) My 1 minute quick gestures from posemaniacs. Criticism is appreciated.

Hi Alex...actly, I'm working on this also. I can clearly see the human form, however it looks like you are working with shapes and outlines specifically. I can see body parts (glutes, pecs...) and I believe the goal is to ignore the outlines and body parts, and instead focus on the "line of action" or "gesture". It's difficult to wrap my head around it but this might help you (since it has helped me), try not to close any body parts. so just for now while you get the hang of it, make a sweeping line for each arm and leg. Don't put the outlines around body parts. You can even make a seeping line that "represents" the torso and hips, it might look like a fish hook (sorta). I hope that makes sense. I think you have to turn your thinking brain off, and go for the feel of the pose. Good Luck!
@elkad
Here's a set of beans after watching all the videos and some practice (including draw alongs). The twist was initially quite difficult but I've got a better idea now especially after watching the critiques. I know my line work still needs improvement and I probably could've exaggerated more. Anyway, any feedback would be appreciated, thanks very much!

Hi Elkad, I am also struggling with this exercise! I like many of the shapes you have here. On some of them I have a hard time knowing weather the torso is bending away from the viewer ( the center line suggests it does), or towards the viewer because the lines that show the "pinch" cross over each other and continue. So while it looks like the center line fades back and away, the pinch lines suggest that the hips may sit behind the torso... instead of in front of the torso or closer to the viewer. Maybe take a look at some of them and see if you choose which pinch line belongs in front (either the torso line or the hip line), and darken one line or erase the other line so that either the hip or the torso is clearly in front? I hope this is helpful, I'll be honest it's a bit hard to articulate 🤪

Amazing! I have to say you are a natural teacher. I really enjoy getting to see your style and approach to a very complicated (at least for me) topic. You are so very organized and methodical. This will be my next course!

Figures I drew after finishing the 5 gesture videos, feedback is greatly appreciated

To me they look great! I even recognize some of the poses from the pictures.
