Beginner. Thought I was maybe intermediate w/ portraits but..mmm. Used to draw a lot as a preteen but stopped. Now 23 and picking it back up again.

I was the guinea pig (#16). I've been slowly pacing myself out of my comfort zone. I'm happy to hear my shapes/lines were good, will try being more exploratory with subject itself next! When I thought character I thought props, accessories, etc., but would like to be able to express a character without those things like I saw others doing. I'll play more with it on my own.

I think movement and color(guess cause I hardly see black and white ones). Also I associate cartoons as silly but satiric

So just to confirm, when you do the single clean line, you use tapered lines to achieve it?

Did a character I like. Not sure how intentional my lines look. Will try the provided images soon.

Hi all! I am going through this course using a tablet and CSP (this is my medium of choice for drawing). I have a problem with tempered strokes, and more precisely, to make my lines have a soft beginning, a thicker middle and a soft end again. I'm wondering if I'm the only one having a problem with mapping this on a tablet or is this something normal and I should rather focus on loose sketching? It bothers me a bit.

Hey! It's been hard even on paper. Either it'll be light all the way through or only light at the end. After trying different speeds and adjusting pressure I'm slowly getting consistent tapered lines. Sorry I don't know much about digital but maybe just more practice would help. Or a different brush?

Going to try to use less lines next time. I’ll see that I’ve drawn the wrong line then go back over it several times to make it look how I want. But I’m proud of myself cause I wouldn’t have been able to draw this a month ago.

Meant to say I think I have a tendency to make things skinnier than they really are if I’m not paying attention

I promise I didn’t copy the video but it reminded me of my little turtle statues. Will prob try the level ones later. I wasn’t sure how much detail to go in. Critique on my line quality and proportions would be great.

The busy weekend through off my routine but here are some drawings. Really shows me the difference when I draw from life vs from imagination.

Decided to have fun with perspective. This is my son's toy from Bluey. Btw, just want to encourage you guys to go outside and draw even if you're not drawing landscapes. Having my breakfast outside while sketching starts the day off just right!

It’s still cold where I am. Maybe I’ll draw in the car. 👍🏾
