Threw in an awkward sink and wound up with an unintentional awkward couch as well that’ll probably get someone smacked in the head on the way up or down by the cabinets above. Should’ve started with the couch and put the cabinets up a bit higher. After checking lines with a ruler as I went along it seems pretty difficult to not start veering the angle of long straight lines or getting the angle right with small lines at a distance. It helped a bit getting my eyes more level with the paper to close the distance and see the angle more clearly. I now have a new appreciation for rulers.

Very awkward sink that makes it look like they replaced a chair with a sink

I want to start to sketch in my sketchbook again and I’m in ave when I see artists vill there sketchbook with something that looks like finished drawings. I saw Jess karp doing a stylized portait on YouTube. I felt wow i want my sketchbook to be filled with sketches that looks something like that. So i did a line art study of her piece. And i thought i could go back here and post it. And i Will draw more. It was really fun. ( I know i used exactly same pencil as her. Prisma color col-erase indigo blue. Still colors looks so different. I couldnt get the darks as dark as hers) Hers is more charicaturish than mine.

WOW. You did amazing on this!! I saw that video before signing up for proko and her channel was one inspiration for me to learn more and improve. And all my more detailed art efforts like this tend to be at that 5-6 hour mark as well so speeding it up was one of my goals as well. lol keep going though, you’re doing great!

Level 1ish here but did try out the overhand grip on some of them. Not use to that at all but I saw a small improvement on my control with it. Did all 24 but it would only let me attach 20. Think it took me about an hour 45 to complete. Gonna rest my brain now!

You will be surprised how good you can get if you make this sort of thing a regular practice. Keep practicing the overhand grip. It gets easier. Nice work!

Had fun with this one! I could see where to push things to make the shapes more dynamic though there’s room for improvement but seeing the bouncing angles inside the shape he goes over in the lesson is harder for me to picture at times.

Still need to play around with the assignment reference photos but I tried out a capybara the same way. Some ideas really didn’t work but some did!

First master study of Dave Malan! It’s for sure more difficult to get the longer lines to do what I want them to and I noticed I gotta keep my pencil sharpened up well for the lines to look right in this style and be crisp. And the proportions are off especially on the nose and forehead but I had fun with it and am getting more use to this style of lines. Love Dave’s work!

Thought I’d give the level 2 a shot. Got a bit more sketchy with the skull than the camel. Going for drawing from imagination next and really gonna try and work on loosing up.
