Nice work!! There are notable improvements with each of your iterations. This one really has a dialed in structure, and proportion. Keep it up!

Some changes I made to my submission after watching this.
Also a PSA: I feel this needs to be said.
WD40 isn't a lubricant. Yes, it is an oil. Yes, things do stop squeaking. BUT!
WD stands for Water Displacement and is a penetrating oil. It's meant to force water out of places it shouldn't be, like the nuts rusted to the bolt on your bike that won't turn. Spray it on and wait a while and it will turn! You use it to free up seized up pieces that should move like a rusted hinge. It also strips heavier oils away, cleaning out oils that probably should be there, making it worse long term.
What you want is 3-in-1 oil or some light lubricating oil. For things like ball-bearings in the wheels you'd use a light grease. WD40 would strip the grease already in the casing and you'd end up constantly spraying WD40 in to clear out and then when that evaporated they'd seize up again.
Okay. I'm sorry, I just had to say something.

Ive started a new attempt on this. I also want to show my next step in my learning to be a good draftsman. A little bookshelf in the livingroom where I can have my art books easy accessable when i draw. Started to collect art books this year. I just show the half that is mine 😄
I sent this to a non drawing friend and told him I had made a line study. And he asked me if line study was the same as tracing 🙈 I said very much not and told him i drew it side by side. But i take it as a compliment 😄

The Martin French drawing uses energetic lines that look like they were executed quickly with lots of dashes, corners, and noise. The Gary Villarreal lines are flowing, sweeping and subtle. It was difficult to replicate the sweeping curves of the second drawing.
It felt good to break away from the usual shapes and lines my hand naturally draws when I'm sketching on my own. A great challenge.

Don't go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the oceans, rivers, and lakes that you're used to...

My third attempt on level 2. This time with dark background. And i toned down the contrast on the beard to move attention to face and eyes.

Here is my second attempt. It was much more fun this time. This time i wanted to get better proportion accuracy and bring more focus to the eyes. (Here is the link to my first attempt: https://www.proko.com/s/ZAQ6 ) I attach 2 versions. Its the same drawing just different photos. I took the photo with som portait setting and it made the background darker even though the lightest parts of the drawing should not be lighter than the paper. But it looked cool.
Here is a better photo. Daylight photo. Where the eyes looks as dark as they are. The upper part of the sculpture was reflecring the light and looked brighter than it is on the other photos.

So many good assignments with this project! Good job everyone! Here is my first one Level 2. I will do more but don’t know if i will manage before deadline. This takes alot of energy and time for me because its so many decisions on a paper.
