Nice explorations! Make sure to attach your reference photos so we can all see your process.
I am reposting my drawings here as I see everyone posted here instead on the other video.

I wanted an animal character combining a cat and a bat. It's very difficult to capture right facial expression and the body in motion. But it was a fun exercise; I was hesitate to try it because I was afraid to fail.
If you tried, you didn't fail! I think this is a very cool idea, have you developed it further?
For sure, much easier to see the gestures! If I could have some critiques, I feel like there are some strokes in which you tried too many times to get the line you wanted, and the end result feels a bit "hairy" for lack of a better term :)
A good example of this is in the back left leg of the camel, in which the top part of the leg, knee and foot feel like they have too many lines there, and sometimes that can lead to less clarity in the shape. Again this is just a small critique, I'm still learning as well! :D
Look forward to seeing more of your progress during the course!

Hello! The only thing I would say is to remember to keep your values consistent. You have a good value scale going for reference, but when it comes to the pear, the 2nd darkest value appears closer to the 3rd value. I find it helps to squint to compare if the overall masses in value match up between the reference and the drawing. But overall nice job, keep up the good work :)

The face is a bit off, and I kind of mixed up some of the lighter shadows and the darker midtone. Overall, it was a great exercise.
Really cool! The only thing that stands out more clearly is that the face feels slanted to the right, perhaps because of the almost vertical angle of the hair in the reference. If you made that angle more obviously vertical I think you would match the reference pretty closely! Keep up the nice work!
