This took some time lol. There is a lot of banding due to the fact I couldnt upload a higher quality gif because of the upload size limit. I actually did this in 4k. This was a fun one

My pencil sharpener broke so I ended up doing these with a sharpie. I'll get a new sharpener or make a sanding block and try again tomorrow. Lots of room for growth on these, but I like this approach.
I'm going to be doing more these with my drawing group via Zoom on Sunday, December 3rd. If anyone wants to join us, DM me.

Here is mine. I do a fair amount of this sort of thing, so this is in my comfort zone.

Did exercise inspired by Fabian Ayala post here today. Wanted to add some shapeshifting turn to it, Results not very natural when it comes to animation but it was fun, will try better next time :)

Nice, glad you had fun doing this exercise. This helps because in animation there is a lot of drawing, so you definitely get some millage out of this exercise.

Tried rotating the pecs. I think it came out alright but I could add a little more volume to it.

Did an exercise with simple shapes to understand the movements of the scapula. I did not add the spine of the scapula for the animated ones but will when I get the hang of drawing them. I think I made it too wide but I did learn a lot about the movements. Not sure if they are exact but I will revisit this when I grab some more reference.

An attempt of a nude pose from Channon. Not sure If I could pose nude photos here so I won't. However, after watching the critique video I think I'm starting to understand gesture a bit more. I will post more soon. Idk I tried to not do construction at all but when I don't I get messed up proportions, so Imma try and figure out how to do a little bit of construction but way more gesture to avoid the stiffness Proko talked about. The balance is a bit off but I'll keep that in mind for the future gesture drawings.

Nice, I can't wait for these set of lessons, especially the manipulation of the boxes. I have trouble bloating, pinching and especially twisting boxes. Meanwhile I will continue practicing my gesture drawings in preparation for these set of lessons. Thank you Proko.

Thank you for the critique Proko, I learned a lot about why my poses are stiff. I'll attempt the assignment again after I go through the templates you provided.

Started drawing along at the end of the video for more practice. Learned a lot from this video. My thing is that I have a habit of sticking to forms more than shapes. Really hard for me to change that, but I guess with more practice I would eventually learn to do so.

Did some of them so far. I do a lot of ghosting lol, so I have trouble loosening up. Hopefully as I go on, I get looser to capture the rhythms more. I tried to put some more information into the poses from the anatomy course and figure drawing course, not sure if I succeeded in that but I had fun doing these. Will do more soon.

can't seem to find a brush I'm comfortable with so I just used a hard inking brush. I changed a pose or two just for fun. Will upload more soon.

Am I going in the right direction? I feel like some of these are wrong. I'm open to critiques. Thank you in advance .

A bit wobbly but here's my attempt at the rotation of the simple rib cage. I find that animating the turn helps a lot with learning the form, that and 3d modeling it.

This was fun, started getting into the flow the more I did it.

Did a second attempt at one of the photos. Hopefully this shows some improvement to the flow of the gesture. Are the details on the flippers too much? Is it competing with the face?

Going to have to revisit this assignment after watching the demo of it. I noticed that I could push the poses more and play around with the shapes as well as add some detail to specific areas to help the gesture.

Here is my attempt of the assignment. I had to stop drawing lol I was getting way too into it. I was about to attempt drawing all of the wrinkles and stuff after I got the bigger shapes. I had fun doing this. I tried to eyeball this to the best of my ability. Took me around 3 hours.

Took a look at it now and I noticed some things could be improved like the proportions of the hair shape above the ear. I drew it a little too big. On my next drawings I'll pay more attention to the relationships. I also noticed on my first attempt I drew the head a bit too slim. I figured out I have a bad habit of slimming or thickening the head shape when trying to get the likeness of models. I guess the solution to that is to compare the relationships of the shapes a bit more.

This was fun. In the begining I had an issue with being a slave to the reference but as I went I started to play around with the animals a bit more. Still needs work but I'm starting to understand the process.

Frog: I messed up the proportions so I had to try to fix it (Artist: Eliza Ivanova) -> Pencil
Two Characters (Artist: xray.alpha.charlie) -> Digital
Manga Panel: (Aritst:Gege Akutami) -> Pen
Digital felt the easiest to do. I really enjoyed the manga panel. Creating line weight with the pencil was really challenging. If anyone has any tips on that, I would appreciate it. Really fun project

Nice I like these. Looks like you had fun doing them. From what I saw from Proko's demos he goes over the lines multiple times to thicken them. First, he draws them light then goes over them again at the parts he wants to darken. You can also use the broader side of the pencil to get thicker lines and the sharp part for thinner lines.
