Still practicing my overhand grip. If I do this lesson again, I’m going to use a narrower pencil.

Hello all. Had a lot of fun with this one. I decided to use burrowing owls as my subject, because they always seemed so sassy with their looks. When I looked at the pictures, they often looked like they were telling some juicy gossip to one another, or a joke, giving some stink eye!

My main issue with your 3rd drawing as a biologist is that the tail should not go up like that. It makes them less owl like and more chicken like!

My assignments. I think I’m being too precious with the contours still. Also, I mysteriously shrunk the middle two fingers on that hand!

Going to try and complete this challenge. This is my Day 1. Still trying to get the hang of using my arm+shoulder with an overhand grip for big line work.

Day 14: I did it! I drew every day for two weeks. Tonight I did this cute dachshund, trying to simplify the shapes with the CSI technique.

Before watching the demo, and then drawing along to the demo. My second snail got smudgy from the opposite page and I didn’t take a picture before that happened, but I liked how it turned out.

Posting my second snail with some brighter light.

Attempting without watching the demo. The boot on the left is definitely pancaked, but I think the shape of the one on the right is a little closer. Will try to follow along to the demo this weekend.

Here are my mushrooms. This was a fun exercise. I’ve never been good at, or often tried, to ghost in ellipses. Trying to use my arm and shoulder more with creating lines, as well. This is a good one to get everything moving!

1st page was the first night I watched the video; 2nd page is coming back to it the following day.

Here is my pear!

Just meant to post this first demo. Didn't mean to mark it for help!
Eric Navarrette
The one on the left is my pear before the demo and the one on the right is me following along with the demo.
