Did both of these drawings in under 20 minutes and think I followed the CSI instructions… normally would take a lot longer to transfer things with much more “shapes” and construction lines

I've been drawing for a while and still found this one to be a challenge. The only way "out" is "through" and you have to be willing to be bad before you can get good. Like @Rui Pedro said -- just start with a circle with a square shape on top. You can do it!

I started with the pear. A4 paper, used HB and 2B pencil, tried to keep lines straight and clarify the planes with an even tone. Cheers to anyone doing the course

awesome execution on this one. love how you handled that planar shadow shape and how you broke up the cast shadow

Really great reminder of how much I need to learn. It is much harder that it looks for sure. I keep on wanting to curve the lines. It was also hard to picture a pear in planes.

neat how you captured the reflected shadow into its own shape

Another great video! I love the break down and I like drawing fruit for some reason. I think I will try a set up a fruit and draw from real life and maybe even try the portrait....yikes! Would definitely love any advise on what I did wrong or area I need to work on. I just want to say that if you squint your eyes it helps to see the values better.

I first made the pear and after that the face. It was hard to keep it simple with the face.

I "see" the same thing as you on the portrait, but you handled it much better than me. bravo

This is my first attempt but I want to do it again. At first I was happy with my initial sketch and first layer of shadow but then I sort of lost it and got confused and probably started to overthink the whole thing. I think my cast shadow is at the wrong angle. I’m going to step away for awhile and give it another look and try again and see what I can come up with. And then I’ll try level 2 for some good laughs.

Tried my hand at traditional paper & live observation of an avocado... paper of the pair... and digital attempt at the advance.
