Went through each joint assignment to figure it on my own. Going to rewatch videos and try drawing it again.

Tried drawing on my own and drawing again while going through the videos to learn anatomy. It was interesting drawing over the figure to see how much anatomy I don't know and what I need to work on. Any tips or advice is appreciated.

Aug 29. Animal practice. Figures kind of feel flat and still need to work on applying more 3D shapes an not focus too much on contour. I’m not used to drawing animals, but I will keep on practicing.

The drawings look good, but what I feel that is missing is the sense of form from you shapes that make the gestures look flat. Some of your boxes, in the third picture, of the shoulder are not converging to the same point. In the first picture the form of the hips and torso of some of your drawings forms show more circles rather then spheres. You have the details and proportions right. One way I suggest to do warm ups of 30 sec gestures with either lines, bean, or basic shapes to loosen up, and not worry too much of the details and try to incorporate more 3D shapes accurately show the form. When you move on to anatomy, even I have trouble with this, focusing on drawing the muscles in the right spots can make a drawing too stiff. When you are comfortable adding the shapes and contours over the basic shapes it makes it easier to apply the muscles.

Aug 26, beans. practiced drawing beans. Still having trouble exaggerating the poses when the body is foreshortened or in a neutral pose. sometimes I get confused which side goes in front when trying to interpret the pose to the bean shape. Some poses are easy to see, but the relaxed ones are kind of tough. Going to rewatch the lesson, cause I remember Stan mentioned it briefly on one section. Any critiques are highly appreciated.

Gestures, Aug 26, 2021. working on gestures to practice weight and planting feet to the ground so the figures aren’t floating all over the place.

I've started a second page of these and I'm getting a bit tired. Not sure what I'm getting wrong. I think perspective and proportions is still off. I'm going to continue doing 1 or 2 a day. hopefully something will click. Open to critique. So I've taken Jaoa Bogo advice and separated out the ones I think are the best. I don't want to waste anyone's time. I still think there is value in posting everything if someone wants to look through them.

These look good. One way to check your proportions or perspective is to draw a box first and divide the spaces to create a guide or draw you perspective lines to make sure they are connecting in the same spot. Another would be to try and vary you line to show depth. When its the same line thickness makes it look flat. You lines are clean, keep up the great work. 👍
