Is it possible to combine charcoal drawing with other types off mediums to add color?

Scanning Pencil Drawings Hi all, I'm finally making some progress with my drawing skills, and I found that scanning the drawings creates extremally low quality lines with weird artifacts, even at 600DPI. Is there any work around this besides playing around with photoshop.

I'm not sure to call this thing a "dragon" but for sure it was a blast painting it. I've got carried away by the randomness of the design that was coming out, despite the references, and I must say that I'm pretty satisfied with the result. And all thanks of you guys! This livestream was really great and extremely useful!
