Haven’t done anything timed yet because I’m too slow. Think I’ll start working on one minute stick figures here soon to see if I can improve then. This me trying to do the gesture with more than just stick figure lines though.

Your gestures are easy to read, but I believe you could benefit with more exaggeration to make them really come to life. Your line quality is a little stiff, which makes the gestures look stiff as well. Are you drawing from your wrist or your shoulder? Try using more confident strokes (one line, drawing from the shoulder), and don't overanalyze your placement of lines. The point of gestures is to loosen up (in my opinion) and get a feel for the "life" of the pose.
But keep going, have fun drawing :)

I like how well you are able to read the twisting motion, however i would suggest you use a darker graphite so we can see better what you're drawing to give you better feedback. (or darken the lines in photoshop)

I love the flow and gesture of the character, the choice of where you placed the cat and how the cat is leaning in the same direction also makes it pretty easy to read rather than have it everywhere. I think you can hold off on the complex shading (keep it simple) and really work on the anatomy and gesture, the color choices are nice but a little too muted (my personal opinion). I feel like with a whimsical piece like this, you can use brighter more saturated colors to really make it pop, the character has a lot of life due to the gesture, try reworking the color and see how it makes a difference. :) These are just some of my thoughts, I hope you keep it up! You are way better than me when I was your age!

Hi everyone, did some more practice, i think i'm having issues with proportions and looking at the figure as a whole to make it flow better and with less strokes (kinda messy) any tips on doing cleaner lines or making the figure flow better would be really appreciated! :)

Hi! The first two are from the pics in the lesson and the others are from my practice. But I think I'm still looking at the contours of the body and I don't know if I'm going right or if it's going to be a problem. To me they don't look fluid(?) But these are so much better then what I used to do before and I can see that with more progress they'll be to my satisfaction.
Any feedback is appreciated :)

Hello! Great attempts here, i think your figures can benefit from larger lines when describing the action. They seem to be segmented and i feel that's what's taking away the energy and flow of the figure. Also look at the figure as a whole and don't be afraid to push the lines a little more, using a single smooth line to describe it will help with the stiffness. I used to have the same issue with drawing the figure in parts.
I hope this helps a little, keep drawing! :)

here is my 4rth set! so far my hardest one were the 4rth and 5th pose.
On my last set of gestures I was told to focus on adding weight to the gestures and that was probably my main focus here. It was pretty difficult and I was struggling to figure out how exactly to add weight so let me know how I did.
Thanks :)

I love how you're able to just see the larger shapes of the figure, i tend to focus too much on the details, these are absolutely great! :)

I'm trying to get used to this idea, but it's so hard to stop thinking about contours. My first few attempts at gesture feel so stiff. Also my sister says I'm not committing enough and they're hard to see

start with stick figures first and really exaggerate it like cartoons, it becomes more expressive and you'll find that it's much easier to read afterwards. i can see the gestures in here but you can push them just a little more and make them more obvious, just little tweaks will make a huge difference :) Good luck!
