Hi, I'm new and I want to show you my exercises, the first three are 30 seconds and the last one is 2 minutes
David Gutmann
30sek: Generally speaking you did a good job you communicate what the figure is doing which is not an easy thing to do when you only have 30 seks. One might argue that you could have pushed the gesture further and past what the refrence shows but this is not mandatorry and comes naturally as you gain experience. (at least in my opinion) What I did notice is that youre not always sticking to the mayor gestures of the body. You for example drew two bumps for flank flank fat in pose 13 wich are not part of the main gesture and therefore shouldnt be included in a 30 sek pose. One might argue that the left bump is legitimate since it plays in to the concept of stretch and squish (dunno if you learnd about this yet) but the right bump should definetly be part of one big curve going from the bottom of the hip all the way up to the shoulder. I also noticed that you drew circles to indicate joints. While I dont think that it's harmfull to youre drawing I dont see any value in it either and the amount of marks you can make in a 30 sek pose is limited. 2min: What I like is that you seem to adhere to the first long gesture line that you send down the body. I frequently mess this up so good job on that. What I feel is missing in youre 2 min poses is structure. When doing 2 min poses you have enough time to spare some thought to spend some time thiking about the 3 demensionality of the figure. Im not shure how far you are in the course but later on Stan will introduce methods on how to add simplified 3d forms of the pelvis and rib cage to youre gesture. Once you understand those it becomes a breeze to add the limbs and head to the figure while maintaining its gesture. If you havent gone over this yet I promise it will help you.
