Decided to draw my 7th pear after watching the demo. Here's how it turned out. I'm gonna take a break from drawing pears for a while LOL

Ok I just finished working on my pear. I gotta say, it feels real nice to have a set assignment to practice onafter meandering around for so long not being sure what exactly to do. I gave it my best shot with some of the pencils I had and this is what I came up with. The main issue I think I had while doing it was the shadow; I'm not sure whether it's the shape of the shadow or the value but something looks off to me. Any sort of critique would be great! (And btw I used the pear image provided as reference).

This is actually my second attempt. The first one I chose values way too dark right out of the gate. I know I have a lot to learn and look forward to any feedback!

I’ll chip in some of my attempts. Graphite, charcoal and markers. Couldn’t find any decent reference so went with the one provided. Not yet confident to try portrait.

Here's my first assignment for the level 1. I use a small sketchbook, which is 5.5in X 8.5in. I think it's poor quality with rough texture on the paper, which affects my line quality. I have some difficulty to fill properly the values. I might buy some quality supplies soon ahaha. But for now, I had a lot of fun to simplify the subject. I'll work on level 2 and post it afterwards. Critique welcomed.

The advice to draw before learning to draw kills me! It seems so backwards! I mean as a kid I didn't mind drawing terrible drawings but I didn't know they were terrible then!

Great video! I never thought about the texture of the paper affecting my drawings. So cool!

Well, here's my attempt at drawing the pear! I'm not quite sure if I'm proud of it or not, but I had fun drawing it and I'm determined to improve my skills!

Until today, I never used anything other than HB and HB2 pencils. So this was pretty cool! Each pencil felt like it was moving across the paper in a different way. It felt like the H pencils had a harder time moving across the paper compared to the B pencils which moved so easily, is this right?
