My attempt at the skull after watching the video

Wow, the level of detail on the horse! 🐴

CSI and tapered lines. Used same reference that someone else used some day ago.

Another push on my attempt to practice and catch up. Far from perfect/good quality lines but good, fun leaning.
First attempt at the camel. Now, to be fair, I watched the video first. But while drawing, I wasn't following along. I watched the video, than did this attempt. Later will try a "follow along" to see how I can improve.
CSI PROJECT: Some more catching up. The boots were a bit more complicated than expected but still fun.
I have had such trouble with the boots and the snail. It's taken dozens of tries to even get this far. Identifying the lines and shapes of the boots was a lot harder than the snail. I feel I got better with practice and am satisfied with the boots as they are now, even though they are far from having 'confident' lines/strokes, I feel like I was able to capture the essence of the picture using CSI, even though theres alot of overlapping confused lines. It sure looks like boots. :D.
Any advice or critiques are appreciated.

The top right snail looks pretty good! The center snail, there are some curves that feel just a bit more exaggerated maybe? Like the bottom part of the snail body, the curves in there feel more subtle. And the bottom left boots turned out pretty nice! The laces are just super hard.
Had a hard time w/ the boots again. The first attempt (single left boot) I feel had better proportions, but the laces were a nightmare. In the second attempt (both boots) I wanna say the lines are more confident-ish? The right boot turned out better than the left one, but proportions are still all over the place.
A bit late but here is my boots and snail

After the boots demo. This took me a while.
That was A LOT of information. (A lot of proportions are off too). It’s hard to keep thinking as you draw each line “how do I want to simplify this”. Sometimes it just becomes unconscious copying. Even C curves can be very different from each other.
S curves were extremely hard to ghost. Just hard to get on the same trace.
I have a strong feeling that when Stan was doing the demo for boots he used his knowledge of shapes. That’s why they looked so real. I lack that knowledge so I can only copy 2D information now.
I am still struggling to draw nice eclipses. Going back to drawing some more mushrooms…

I found the task very difficult. But after the 10th try I could see clear progress. I will keep working on it.

The boot gave ME the boot. DAMN this was hard hahaha my win here was to at least try without watching the videos first, so that's something. But everything else, epic failure. Back to mushroom land and draw mushrooms while sobbing and crying 🤣 (And watching the videos now to see how it's done).

the snail and the right boot I did before watching the demo, I felt like my lines were a bit hesitant and not strong enough. It took me a while to complete the left boot especially. The right boot I attempted after I had watched the demo and was reminded to SIMPLIFY! The beginning step of drawing a rough placement and shape was very helpful! It went with much more fluidity than I had expected and the lines to me seem more confident. I didn't have so much eraser action with that one as well.

My attempt at the snail (lvl 1). At first I (thought) was able to identify some shapes from the shell and the body, but of course, putting pencil to paper is a whole different story. It was harder than I thought it would be. Will keep trying tho. Appreciate any feedback :-) (And yeah... ran out of paper there on them tentacles 🤣)

Day 8/14
I did some fun little chimp sketches today. I think I’m gonna take a dive into studying their anatomy, since it’s been a while since I’ve learned a new animals anatomy.

Just got back form my trip so moving away from the tablet and trying pencil and paper for the first time. It was fun to try different pencils as well and how they feel to the paper. This was definitely a lot of fun to do! Will keep doing it as a warm up exercise :-) (P.s.: The production quality of the videos, even in a "simple" one like this is outstanding! Great job @Stan Prokopenko and thanks so much for these).

That's so creative! Such a good idea! (Those are the piggies from Angry Birds, right?)
