My 2nd attempt, around 7 hours - watercolor. I intended the neck to be darker, but it made the head pops too much. I used cool light under the jaw with gouache but it's too much. I still can't copy/color pick from the photo into my color palette yet. Any tips on how to copy the color from reference into the palette?

I failed watercoloring this. I had trouble painting subject in the shadow or contre jour. Help?
