This exercise finally made me get how to dynamically place boxes in perspective and also have them look good. Some of these torso shapes got a bit too thick, but for the first try, I'd say, it's not that bad.

I stopped hiding from my responsibilities and did some hands
I didn't know, Marshall had such pretty hands. You could almost say, they are very hand-some.

For the first one, I felt that the horns and the head were most important, followed by the leg that is moving and the line that indicates the belly.
The second one is the just light one, but I'm not too sure if it gets the point across.
Hierarchy: I love it. Very clear communication on what is important. There is even some variety in the light lines inside.
Light and shadow: good start. I would make the line in the back lighter in value but still thick. You definitely could play around with line value and edge to add more variety. I would have made the edges of the lines on the back softer because it is not a separation but one form.

Here are my sketches from imagination
The first two were just from observation, just to see how it works
I could have been more creative with this, but I didn't want to stray too far from the reference
I'll probably come back to this

I think I've spend the most time on the hand, but it's also the one I'm the least happy with.
At least I'm slowly becoming better.

I struggled a lot with this one at first.
With the boots I got caught up with the details and I tried too hard to get all the folds right, but I remembered half way through, that this was about c, s curves and straights. So I erased most of the short scratchy marks I made before and tried draw longer lines with only one stroke.
I think struggling with the first one made the snail go much smoother, since I was already in the right mindset and learned from the mistakes I made with the boots.

This is a pear, or at least it looks like one
It doesn't taste like one
