I hope I did this correctly. It was difficult, but eye opening, to drill into just the lines. A lot of my favorite artists had color or are painted in the books I have and it made it more difficult to really see definite lines. I tried Frank Frazetta's Conan, Rein Poortvliet's Gnomes, and Brian Froud's The Gwragedd Annwn in Faeries. I grew up surrounded by all three of these artists' works.

Gosh! I'm so sad the podcast is done now because I am very interested in the question about teaching at collegiate level. Maybe it's in a future episode I haven't got to yet?
I know this episode is old and everything, but I just got to it and I wanted to comment on the carpal tunnel question in case others have that concern. First, I do agree with Marshall on seeking out expert opinion and advice and everyone's situation is different, but just as a hopeful surgery story-I messed up my thumb pretty bad while gaming (and I only play a couple of hours once a week, but it was aggressive competitive type play). I mapped all my favorite keys to my thumb mouse buttons and ended up developing tendon issues that required surgery. I did everything recommended to try to avoid surgery, but eventually caved for surgery. I feel much better now after surgery. It does get a tiny bit stiff if overused (I'm a year post surgery now), but I feel I can do the things I enjoy again. Although, I did have to get creative to adjust my environment to have less stress on any one finger to avoid future damage.

I had so much fun with this assignment. I've never really just relaxed with it before. I grabbed colored pencils and just sketched. I did have trouble with making the drawings smaller and the back of the penguin was a struggle along with finger proportions.

Day 14! I made it! I decided to challenge myself a bit and dug out some of my figurines to attempt.

Day 11. I struggled with the perspective of the base in relation to the rest of the machine. Overall though, I'm proud of this one .

Day 9. I watched the feedback today on shoes and decided to have another go. I grabbed a pair of my shoes and popped them on a table under a light. I'm still struggling with laces and perspective.

Drawing from imagination today. I think I'll use this little guy in an upcoming lesson.

Day 6 and at my work desk again with my desk decor. Finally got the courage and determination up enough to attempt Velma. Also, just for the record, I am an old school Scooby-Doo fan and a child of the 80s and not the current Velma show.

Day 4. It took three tries before the perspective was not super crazy wonky, though I know it is still not there either.

Day 3 - I started sketching my puppy, but she is part chihuahua and gets nervous If you look at her too long, so she moved and I lost the pose. I should have taken a pic first, 😆 Maybe tomorrow I'll get her drawn. So here is another desk item for today.

Boots and snail. The laces were so hard, especially in the dark areas.
