I enjoyed this assignment. I still need to work on line confidence, but it was fun nonetheless. It’s been great scrolling through all the posts from the community, I love seeing the various styles.

Level 1 and 2 attempts. This was a good challenge and really showed me just how unconfident I am in my lines. I tried to loosen up a bit on Captain Skully McSkullface, which worked in some areas but not in others. Overall, I enjoyed the assignment and it gave me some good areas to focus on in the future.

This was a good challenge for me. This was the first time I had drawn a camel with any level of detail - I love the plumbing around the nose to keep the sand out. The laces were frustrating... lots of erasing and redrawing. I press too hard, my hands cramp up. :) Good fun, all in all.

Although I used to draw a lot, this is my first drawing in .... years. The first pears I drew - #2 and #3, I see I over-did. with the "chiseling" and cross hatching. Proportions and angles are wonky. But, it feels good to have pencil to paper. And they still look like pears instead of blobs! Yay! Then I watched Proko do it in the demo and I realized how much I needed to simplify even more. I forgot how hard it is to control values and tone. I will have to put some time into that.

These look awesome.

My drawing for the project. I didn’t do a great job at following the guidelines of keeping everything sharp and angled.

My attempt. I made the mistake of starting with a darker pencil first, instead of going light and layering. Watching Stan’s video afterwards was really helpful, I’ll try to implement his techniques for the next project.
