Hey there Jacob.
Nice drawing here. I like that this actually feels like he's in a cold place. Honestly I might just push the shadow values a little bit more to the dark side. His shadow indicates a stronger light source in front of him.
Other than that, this is neat :)

Hey sam!
For your problems with simplification, I would recommend drawing just the basic form of the leg using boxes and cylinders; no anotomy.

Is the color too much? I like to emphisise the area of focus though sometimes it seems to come off as a distraction. Also, should I post my images separately or can they be grouped like this?

I think Those colors are great! Also grouping the images is probably the most convenient :)
