Thank you :)

Those are looking cool! You really got the shape simplified into chunks and the subtle color patches are looking diverse. I never really got my hands on transparent way of painting but I guess I should try sometimes.

Thank you. It’s a fantastic medium for staying loose. The water has a mind of it’s own.

Hey Sebastien, great paintings! What's the backwards way of working?
3yr
Thank you. By that I meant starting with the lightest color and going darker and darker. Since watercolor is transparent paint, you have to think ahead of time where your highlights are going to be and let those parts be the white of the paper. You can’t go light over dark like other paints, unless you “cheat” a bit with gouache 😉

Hello everyone ! I thought I would post my latest art as my firt topic.
I have been practicing watercolor for a year and some months now and I’m having a blast. As soon as you get over the “backwards” way of working, it’s such a great medium. Especially to convey an idea quickly when doing plein air paintings.
These 2 are based on photos and like the title says, they are my latest 2.

Well...you are waaaayyyy ahead of my gesture/figure drawing skills (especially my 2 - 5 mins one lol) so I don’t know what to say except your are nailing it ! Very clear and lots of weight in them. I like them a lot, good job !

Very nice. I really like the strong graphic shapes you have in your drawings.

Very nice and very graphic. I can already imagine it in ink. Good job !

Really cool composition. I feel like the “sewer circle” is a bit too round or we are not looking up at Leonardo enough. They kinda bug my eye a little, like they are not quite on the same perspective. But I’m being picky here. Great drawing !

I like how you twisted the body on your female characters. Not having the hips and the torso one over the other ( “on the same line”) really helps makes a pose more dynamic. Don’t be shy to use a ruler when you need it. Especially on man made objects. That hammer in your first drawing would have more “punch” with straight lines. Good job!
