Did a quick draw along with the video! Although Im getting a little confused with my understanding with “wrapping lines” to help push the perspective. Am I correct to think that wrapping lines tiled upwards (rainbow like curve) is to push something forward? While wrapping lines tiled downwards are to help pushing something back?
Michael Hampton
Yes, that's correct (assuming I'm understanding you correctly 😅).

Did a personal project and really tried to keep in mind line weight! I used the heavier lines for the head to really push it forward, and thinner lines for the body going into the background! I also used heavier lines for the bottom of the flower leaves and thinner ones to push the back ones. then thin lines for the little details. 🙏😁

First photo is organized by “Hierarchy of Importance” method. I focused on the outline of the Rhino as a whole and the horn for the heaviest lines, Then a few medium lines for the nose, ears and eyes. Then very light lines for the rest. Second photo is organized by “Shadows and Light Direction” method. Just putting the heavier lines on where I saw to believe the shadows to be! 🙏

Here is my proportion chart! Need to go over this a few more times and really get familiar with where everything really “should” go! I want to be able to make this chart without watching the video. 🙏

Lvl 2 CSI lines (I kept the skull simple in the beginning, but added some detail later. Got lazy with the spine though don’t mind this mess).
