Firstly, what anime are you watching right now ?
Secondly, itโs best if you first take the traditional approach. Learn the structure and proportions of the head and features. Then itโs just a matter of manipulating that structure to accommodate the anime style.
Hello, it is I once more. I made a jellyfish man with psychic powers holding a gun in one hand and using his powers to telekinetically hold a smol sword (contradicts logic, but yeah). Altho, most people are saying it looks like a "vengeful" male genitalia. Made with black ballpoint pen on journal paper.
Hii
Here's my submission to this challenge. The "Jelly Bot"

Love the sleek design of the armor. Especially the rendering. I'd say work on your figure drawing cuz either u didn't have the knowledge to make different poses or what, but there's nothing much happening in the pose.
Also, check ur structure too cuz some parts are made 2d.
Overall the design iz neat, reminiscent of star wars. But ig u need the tools to make it the way you probably imagined it. I can see ur an artist in works so don't stop (ofc if u get burnout, that's a different case)

What's your character design process?
What's your main focus when making a character ?
I'm interested in the field but been too scared of it ? What do I need to know ?

What do you do when you hit a pitstop in your c. designs ? Like when u can't just make a character that is interesting ?
You know why we have not found any LIFE on MARS yet? Its because they live UNDERGROUND! these creatures have been living under the crust of mars even before the first human ever existed. During that time they evolved to become the best diggers of the galaxy .Using the ample Iron, Silicon and Energy available in Mars they have developed their technology to the point that they are now ready to rule other civilizations and become an interplanetary species.....Will we be able to FIGHT them away? or...become their SLAVES FOREVER?
Only time will tell.....

Made an illustration of a martian creature running to find some living beings on Earth while his other friends are in the sky waiting to land and join him.
The picture with the unique and amusing structure was the one that really inspired me to go in this direction
I just had to include it...then used the other references to flesh out the sketch and story more.
Hope you liked it!

If u could've y'know, made the clouds as huge forms, that'd add to the reality a bit, tho this is just my opinion.

These days I am afraid of critiques so maybe not, but still give me critiques on this piece. It'll help nonetheless. Altho there is a very basic mistake here on the beetle's body in that it is tilted away from the head

The inspiration for this came from a game called Dark Souls III, specifically a weapon called "Crucifix of the Mad King" which is a halberd with the arm and head of a Mad King affixed onto it.
So I made a tree spear, with a beetle with flexibility of a lemur ( more specifically a spider monkey ) on it, with a bit of puff puff flowers growing on it (idk the actual name of this plant unless it's a dandelion)

Hereโs my entry! Really enjoyed the challenge of trying to come up with a sketch combining some of the reference pictures.
I ended up with a rad lemur riding a motorcycle while shooting into the air ๐
Hope you like it!
Thank you for the challenge๐๐ผ

I love how you used the ink here. Adds a nice contrast which adds to the action in this pose. The pose itself is pretty action-worthy ; sth I'd see in a film
Obviously there is a lack of knowledge regarding human anatomy which could give you more options since u have tried to make a humanoid lemur.
Construction of the bike is done nicely up until the headlights where it seems u had trouble drawing a circle in perspective ? Cuz it looks flatter than the rest of the bike.

How does one even focus on two things at the same time ? Switching targets of focus ? Or focusing on the part where you will use the other reference? In my experience, I just left it upto my mind. Whatever happened just happened, and in that, I discovered that piecing two pieces of information, the mind does it on it's own. There is no conscious effort in this, only the will to do it I guess. Idk, what r ur thoughts about this ?
By now, it will have become painfully clear that I am anxious, and more than a little. Bit more than that actually, I guess to the point where I am subject to panic attacks too at some cases.
So I made yet a new piece, as this is a sketch challenge. Hope I'm not breaking any rules. So this is an earthen, submachine(more to the machine side) which uses swords as it's ammo with portrusions growing out of it's barrel making it a good marker along with a little tree outta it, and after that I was just in a meditative state and was like let's see what comes outta my brain, so after this point, things will feel randomly placed.

Ref. 1- swords used as ammo
Ref. 2- (3/4)machine gun with submachine model
Ref. 3- portion of pinecone thingy portruding out serving as reflex
Ref. 4- leaf drawn at the end, which is connected to puffy tree coming outta the back of gun.
Ref. 5- miniature tree with puffy puff pods coming outta the back side of gun
Ref-6 motorcycle riding the strings that connect the tree with the leaf.
This is my first time combining reference and entering in any art competition.
I do want to be a concept artist so for the past two years I solely devoted myself just learning the fundamentals no self artwork jus study. I hope to improve more and be the best as I can and draw imaginary scenes๐ฅฐ.
Goodluck to me and everyone!๐

Hello, Stan and Aaron. I wanted to ask how would one begin their initial painting? What are somethings one should keep in mind while painting ? Is there any prep one should do before painting ?
Hello Bryan and Stan, I have a question. When making an environmental drawing what things should one focus on ?
Also if you wanna be a concept artist designing environments, what sre most things that all industries look for when designing environments?
Thanks for all the work you have done๐

what kinds of exercises/stretches/etc do you do when taking breaks during a session of drawing/painting?
3yr
Dynamic stretching. If you don't know what dynamic stretching is then just google or bing or whatever search engine you use, just look it up
