I drew all the references which took me a few days. These were my favorites. I hope I'm doing this correctly.

First attempt at level 1: Did I simplify enough? I’m going to watch the critique, attempt a few more, and then move on to level 2!

Level 1 attempt - threw in a monkey and a baboon (i think). Not really happy with the hippo but i think the rest are fun looking.

I did the study on Karl Kopinski. I found it very challenging as a beginner and took several starts and stops because I kept getting discouraged when everything kept coming out wonky. I finally finished it when I reminded myself that this was a study on his line work. Also as a novice I found it hard to understand why he chose some of his lines. In any case, I'm glad I got the study done.
