LESSON NOTES
I will be demonstrating how I make an emotive portrait utilizing cinematic lighting, background, and additional elements to render a final portrait. After my demo I'll be taking questions from the audience! If you're interested in having a question answered, be sure to switch over to the discussions tab and ask it there. This is part of Lightbox Expo 2021.

Hi Karla, huge fan! I was curious about ways to study cinematic lighting situations, film studies are always helpful, but was curious if you know of any other recourses or places?
Is this the concept art link Karla’s mentioning? https://www.conceptartassociation.com/2021-caa-finalists/amalia-karla-ortiz
Hi, again 🥳 For the master study, would you also use the same medium as the old master? (Ie, probably oil paint)

From when I was growing up which I’m about to be 35 on the 20th of this month I noticed that artist when I was young WOULDNT want to teach or show another person anything. My question is general question for you and everyone in proko….. what made y’all want to stop that an actually help an show people an help them learn. Again when I was growing up no one wanted to shared secrets or tips what made y’all want to change that which I do appreciate by the way much love for that just curious.
Hi Karla! How many thumbnails or rough sketches do you usually do when doing a keyframe or illustration?
