Love to see where different artist come from (what people study and what fascinates them)!) thanks a lot for sharing! also so cool to see that some of names in influences align !) love Doug Chiang - his Mechanica really made me dream of becoming an artist, some time ago now.. and here we are)

For me my interest in art started with comics books so my biggest influences at first were David Mazzuchelli, Mike Mignola, Alex Ross, and Garry Leach. But since I began to learn how to draw and found that I'm interested in all kinds of art the list has grown to include people such as Peter Han, Ilya Repin, Phil Hale, Walt Kelly, Frank Frazetta, and Virgil Finlay.
