So... much... inking! I found this project really relaxing. It's been a long time since I've worked on inking so I appreciated the chance to just put a bunch of lines down. This lesson really taught me the value of tapered strokes, since I've always struggled to join my lines together especially with inking brushes like the one I used for this assignment. I did the hierarchy version first, then the shadow version. I increased my brush size for the shadow version and it really shows. I was really happy with the hierarchy version when I completed it, but I much prefer the shadow version now that I can see them both side-by-side. One thing I really struggled with for the shadow version: what do you do when a line represents an edge between a really bright area and a really dark one?

2023/1/8. Good morning everybody. Here’s my latest study about contrapposto. Since the focal point is the butt I post it here (source: “The Anatomy of Style” by @Patrick Jones). Thanks for any comment or advice.

Am I missing something? What assignment?

I hoard art supplies more than use them. Hoping to turn that around with this class and a daily habit of having fun while making art. This was relaxing and enjoyable, which I need to remind myself art as a hobby is supposed to be. Looking forward to the basics course!
