It's an autoportait. It took one and a half hour I guess. I used Krita. I'm new about it. I want to improve my drawing skills but I dont know my mistakes so I dont know what should I study. Waiting for your critiques and comments

Looking for critique about giving light and anatomy. About the strecth that blue one has on his belly, I made it on purpose, I wanted to make it look like its streching, bending like paper but Other mistakes arent on purpose obviously :(( I would be so happy if you comment!

I drew it yesterday and I'm trying to keep my shading process longer. Now here is the result. How can I go more realistic with the face and I would love to know about my mistakes of lightning :))

For anything you're keeping cartoony like this, line confidence is critical - it's ok if there are some searching lines on your draft, but you really want to be definitive on your final linework, avoiding any scratchy ghost lines. Additionally, you want to use your line weight carefully to ensure the drawing reads well even before you put colors on. For instance - see how there's a tiny line of shadow where the hat wraps around her forehead? Using a very thin, ghosted line there gives us the impression that there is no overhang - i.e. this is a thin, flimsy cloth, or possibly even blonde hair. A bold line weight here would give the impression that there is a bit of an overhang where the hat folds over, and make it clear that the hat is something she's wearing, not part of her body. The same is true at the bottom of the shirt, the thin line gives the impression of "sticking" to her body in the drawing, where we can see there is an overhang in the photo. A bold line here would give the impression of a "drop shadow" and help create some distance there.

I drew Selena Gomez and tried to make it look like a little cartoony. I dont know is it my style or I did like that because I could. I'm open for critiques! :) It took me like 3 hours

Hey Tuna, what you have is nice with plenty of room for growth. The image you here is a sketch that's colored. The sketch is well done proportions and it looks 3d. It's like you've been practicing sketching this front facing head for a while and got really good at it. But it's still just a sketch with color. Your painting color is actually decent. You haven't made any mistakes unless you count not trying things you haven't mastered yet. You some how mastered your skill level. That's actually impressive. You have made something unfinished look really well done. My only advice is to start doing art that pushes you in directions that are new for you. There are lots of directions. start making mistakes and struggle at improving. Then people can give you helpful critiques. This sketch you have looks like it could have been done by someone whos actually very good at art but wanted to be super lazy and leave it unfinished hahah. take care Tuna, keep on painting.

Oh firstly thanks a lot and I cant tell you how much I agree with you! It's one of my problems I guess, I can't go beyond the sketch. I'm used to draw at classes so I reluctantly fit my art in a short time. I don't know how to get over this. And I'm also new at digital art so sometimes it might be hard to do what I really wanted to do. Thanks for critiques again, be sure they encouraged me

I'm studying painting and loomis head method here but I'm not sure do I see lights and shadows correctly. About the male one, for some reason the halfway version looks better than the final. I would also be happy if you comment on my color choices. Thanks in advance ^^
