Hi! Here is my latest drawing, a chibi-like devilish piece of work 😊 I'm overall happy but I'm worried about the amount of exeggeration I did. Is it too much and wat off? Any advice at all is good.. thank you ❤

2022/7/3. Hi everybody. Here's my latest illustration. It's a concept for a videogame. The subject is a fairy who can manipulate time. I'd like to have some feedback or critique. Thanks and good night.

Hi! I really like this idea and some of the rendering. It looks like you put a lot of work into this illustration, you did some great design with the hair, and details on the boots! What I think could be better overall is lighting. There are many things fighting for attention and I understand that they are important but they could be emphasized with a different approach. I would suggest darkening everything accept the character, and a lot, and than putting just some smaller glows on the clocks. Making them much more subtle but still important.

I love the upper middle one.. I can almost feel the kick coming :D I'm confused about images you posted, both sheets have same reference photos and to be honest I can't tell which are 30 secs and which 2 mins.

Sorry, for the newbie question, but what pencil hardness is recommended for doing gesture drawing? My first attempt at 2-minute gestures was with a 2B, and it looks way too light and "sketchy." Maybe a 6B or softer? (I was trying to mimic the strokes on the video.)

I was wondering the same thing but I don't think there is a right answer. I started with H and after some time of not being able to see anything I switched to 2B. It was a good decision :D Your gestures don't seem too light but it could be a question of what we are used to. Regarding 'sketchiness', I'm not sure what you mean, but I believe that comes from number of lines you use. More lines lead to more sketchiness. Less lines with conscious effort to use less lines means less sketchiness. It's not something that comes or goes with different pencil hardness. At least that's how I see it, I hope it helps a bit! :)

I worked on this illustration while going through the course and Marco really helped to have my steps organized. Even though I went through a thumbnailing phase for the composition, values and then colors, I struggled so much with painting the foreground mushroom and in the end started to doubt it's positioning. Maybe I'll make a repaint at some point because I really enjoy my little Lillypad character. Oh, and I guess the end result would be way too dark for print but that's ok since it isn't meant for printing.

Ok, both are really cool, yours is for sure the more 'pretty' one and the head piece you painted is glowing in such wonderful magical way! How did you get AI generated image? I encountered only AI generated Pokemon and those were not good at all. This seems next level :)

That's an interesting question and I believe it's not that important if you only plan to draw neutral faces but when you go further to drawing more extreme expressions both skull anatomy and muscles are of importance. I guess it's similar with the whole body.. Depending on how tricky poses you want, the more anatomy knowledge is needed.

Ok, I'm kind of spooked because this doesn't seem beginner at all. But it is what it is, so I YOLOed this one from imagination
