Hi Jeff
what would you say the best way to combine graphite and charcoal in a drawing.
eg would you start with graphite layin, followed by charcoal rendering, can you then go back to graphite over the charcoal for finer detail for example.
are there any things to avoid when combining the two, eg if putting graphite over charcoal doesn’t work well?
looking forward to the livestream. I’m in the UK so will be a bit late for me, will the stream be available to view later?
many thanks
Pete

I am in dire need of help. I can't seem to draw The Bean when I need to indicate leaning forward or backwards and twisting in the torso.

Hi,
getting your head around this one took me some time and practice. Essentially at first I copied Proko’s demos,
First I watched it,
then drew it along whilst watching it again,
then tried it with just the reference image.
use a fresh sheet of paper each time so you can’t see the previous one you’ve just drew
then I tried some other reference pics on my own and compared against the ones I did earlier.
I drew a lot of beans 😉
you’ll soon get to grips with how to place the torso ‘over’ the pelvis if leaning forward (vice versus if leaning back)
Small steps, enjoy the journey
hope this helps
