I just pushed contrast with photoshop a little bit, 1 min of work. Really wanted to see how it would look, for my taste, it does need it (more black). Amazing work Marco!

My first attempt, i tried to simplify them, but i think i overcomplicated the dog one. Need some feedback on this..

In my image, I have shown the measurement of the dog and your image(didn't go full-on with analysis). It's good to go way back, back before -form- and simplify form and shapes. The lines that I have shown in the image help with orientation and observation of how big the shapes are of the subject that you wish to draw. You can use lines as 1. angles (helps with an orientation where things should be) like in the face of the dog or 2. flow like the line of the leg, belly all the way up the head of the dog, or 3. the lines of the paw, for example, can determine how tall something is what is the distance. The more you map the drawing the more you will see without even drawing lines, it will become natural and you will be able to copy almost anything it's an excellent first step in getting used to shapes and forms. But my example can be dangerous because it can put you in a safe bubble of copy-paste on the other hand it's really useful if you do not overreact with it. Hope it helps.

Hey Milan, I like your image and concept and your figure has nice gesture. One of the main things I am seeing in your composition is that all the elements are separate from each other and don't relate. Also, they don't draw the eye into and around the image. I did a quick sketch that I hope helps and will show you some things you could do to help your composition :)

This is really good! Elements you call them, didn't even think about it. Big 2D shapes as forms. This is gold pal! Thank you!

This is just my opinion, I believe that problem is right there when you say I can't be like them. You should not be like them, you can like it love it and so on but be yourself. For me the hardest part in art is to find yourself or in other words accept yourself.

I need help around with "what to do next", this drawing is almost all from imagination and I like that but it sucks with composition, I can't find anything good for that topic. I always get stuck when I need to finish a drawing. I love Eliza Ivanova and her simple approach to shading and line control, now I do not expect to copy or for my lines to be like hers but when I zoom out the image is way to busy its not clean. I would like my drawings to be clean and direct like Eliza for example. Tryed to study and observe her work but I truly do not understand what to look for anymore. Any critique is welcome or directions where I could go with this.

My recommendation would be Marc Leone on YouTube he has beautiful tutorial on perspective for beginners. (Or @Marshall Vandruff ) Then try again with robo bean. Understanding perspective is really important without it you can't find proper center of forms or bend them in space.

I have a question about proportional measuring. When you do the head length measuring technique, how do you remember which proportion goes with what in the figure when you progress with the drawing? Do i just take a mental note, go for it and make mistakes to correct it later, or is it okay to mark the image every time to remember?

I like hale measurement method, ghosting circles across figure can give good results but later on refine, depends on pose difficulty. Two circles for end of neck 2 for chest 3 for upper leg and so on just google Robert Hale. A combination of gesture, bean simplified volumetric forms of chest arms legs. But if you just want to measure from a reference then all above is not important just find key points like end of the shoulder and end of the chin or ear anything that stabs your eye, remember the path (line) and draw the ghosted long line the more angles you cover lines will cross each other don't think about figure just measurement 2d planes latter on try new things. Mesurment is best with fruits anything that you have in house place them together and just measure. Have fun

Quick drawing messy I am at work 😃 had to hurry. Basically what you need is really good perspective knowledge, to train your self to think in 3d. I would start with box like the drawing understand 2d practice ellipses then box then try sphere, hope it helps

2021/10/19. Hi everybody. Here’s my latest figure drawing. I’m not sure I have been able to find the right balance between the general shading and the shades of each muscle. And I’m not sure about anatomical correctness either. If u have any good advice to make it better pleas leave a comment. Thanks.

The problem that i am notecing is bone structure, his right arm is broken with deep shadow, because you are like me at a stage where we do know what we are doing but pushing more than we know (maybe ego) and make mistackes like that. If you look at whole shape of the figure it feels like rubber i belive its because you are constucting shape by shape insted of thinking about volumetric forms big shapes that in "center" have a bony structure (when you transition from volume to some details). This is a really nice drawing the key element is that you do know how light affects forms you do know how to control value now the advice is to leve that aside and focus on things that are hard for you. My grammarly thing is not correcting me so sorry for English mistackes

The circle is not just a circle, 4 easy steps to draw a head on youtube videos are something you don't want to watch. The circle represents a sphere(ball), make yourself a simple practice and draw many many circles let's say 100 different sizes then when you get a hang of it use the same circles and divide them to half horizontally on that half draw an ellipse, same vertically and repeat. That way you are getting familiar with probably the hardest simplified object that is sphere (because of ellipses and perspective)

Quick drawing, not perfect arms to big and so on but don't forget the basics forms and perspective from there you can build up anything. Texture is last thing you want, to practice texture find some random images of scales for example or bricks or fur what ever you want and try your best to observe a lot and draw. Observation is the most important thing. Hope it helps. (Don't use my drawing as reference because its broken it's just poor example)

that's a really good illustration. It doesn't look too much like anime though, you should look out for proportions more. What makes something anime is definitely what's on the face. Exaggerating features in a painting may seem very strange because the ridiculous proportions don't usually fit with the realistic feel of a painting. However, there are artists that can do anime-like paintings really well, you should take a look at Stanley Artgerm Lau's work, he does great anime paintings.

that is what i am looking for (like Stanley), its a weird combination of anime and westren cartoons, there i have room for realism, found 2 artists next to Stanley. Aleriia_V (Instagram) and cutesexyrobutts (deviant art) his/hers way of painting is really powerful, i am trying to copy and observe them and warning sex and nudity is what they do which is good because i can trace muscles bones proportions and so on

Your style's extremely pretty! I'd say that in an 'anime' style, One common theme across many artists is the use of exaggeration or manipulation of the human head for appeal! So, you put more focus on the eyes and lips, while the nose is simplified. This 'rule's also exemplified by Ross Draws! To emulate the beauty of the eyes more, I recommend you make a few color studies of artists you really like, or experiment a bit with color theory, which is one of my favorite things to do! In the anime style that you're trying to emulate, maybe lessen a bit of the contour, too! Make the cheeks more round, perhaps the lines of the fingers more pointed, and such! As for more objective critiques; Slant the eyes a bit less so that they're more even with the proportions of the face, make the lips (and nose) more generous in size. It's a consistent mistake I've been beginning to see where people don't size up components of the face enough! Try and play around with it, really, and see where you'll land with it! One of my last points now - Faces have always been hard for me to grasp, but don't make the entire edge of someone's head round! Cheeks sort of make for a slope of sorts that bulge from the face as is! After its mass concludes at some point, since it's used in function for out mouths, that bit of muscle will cease to jut out, so it'll be a more straightforward line, although this also will start again at the bumps of the head for the eyebrows and stuff! There, that's my advice! Here's my take on it, although it's a quick and stylistic rendition, so don't take it too much at face value! You have wonderful art, can't wait to see more from you, and I hope this was good advice!

Tried to paint over it a little bit, the problem that i see its because you are not incresing size of your brush make it bigger and group shapes(hair or anything else), work with big brush as mutch as you can only details with smaller size(like side of the pencil). The color is fine you can play with it like with blue that you tried, something i wouldt use at least not so much. Hope it helps and sorry for bad English

My first anime drawing.Need help for anime characters, face is the bigest problem for me. I am new to digital, color and anime, i would like any sort of critique and adivce on what is main thing to look for when creating a face to look like anime, i am looking at rossdraws and aleriia_v (Instagram) for shapes and color as reference, for this drawing i just used random model from google. I stoped here on the drawing because i started to render it automaticly, simplicity is way harder than i tought. Thank you for your time
