Yay managed to catch up a bit in time to submit this one. Anyways, really find it hard to start the initial block in, figuring out those first marks, I always seem to get it wrong. Finally managed to get something that I'm ok with, gonna defo try some more of these though.

Ok, this was such a fun assignment but totally out of my abilities at the moment. I had fun giving it a go though. I did the roughs and sketch ideas digitally so I could fit all my reference images onto a idea board and then once I kinda figured out what I wanted I sketched the finished one on paper. Soo...here is my Sundrurg, that is what I'm calling this creature. :)

Ok days 6 - 11. Tried to stick to mainly life quick sketches but a couple days I did some watercolour, from other tutorials, and as I had to draw the basic shapes in for this I have included them. I know it's not strictly sticking to the assignment...but the way I see it, doing art everyday is still a good habit whether it be drawing or painting. I hope anyways lol. Oh and the bird and dog sketches, seriously rough as moving animals are HARD. And my bird is super annoying because everytime he sat still for five mins I thought, ha now I can draw him, I get my sketchbook and boom, he starts being annoying and moving again, it's like he know!...

My very rough level 2 assignment. It is soooo hard to not get caught up in details, and trying to decide what to leave in and what to leave out.

Hey, looks like a great new course. I'm just curious to know, are the lessons new recorded lessons or are they taken from the Watts Atelier, previously recorded either streaming or online classes?

Day 5. Used some of my birds feathers. The drawing is super light because I wanted to try some watercolour after the drawing.

Level 1 assignment done, will probably try level 2 over the weekend. Did not realise you had to post these in the assignment tab either.

Days 1 to four from life. Tried not to shade but forgot on the first one. On the hanging bird feeder I also had a go at watercolour as well just for fun.

Hey, great job at the pear. The overall shape looks great, if you don't mind some friendly advise? I would suggest going back in with some darker values, your lines are very light, which is great for the initial drawing, makes it easier to correct if you need to, but now you have the basic shapes and lines where you want the value to be, they need to be filled in darker so you can clearly see those value changes.

Ok, so I gave the portrait a try, man graphite is hard to get dark. This took hours. I think I have more than five values as well lol. Ah well it was fun though.

Ok, I love Proko, I love his courses and his teaching style but right at this moment in time I am very frustrated and quite frankly disappointed. I purchased premium expecting the course to start in January, which it did, but so far I feel like I should go find another course and come back here six months down the line. We have had five videos, two intro vids pretty much and 3 vids on tools. I get it, you want to provide total beginners with information, fair enough but those vids could of been put into one, and we could now of been starting on actual practice methods. It's fine to just tell us, draw everything, but I came here to learn how to draw, with a structured course, that has assignments and demos and so far I feel like I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to actually start. I'm really not a fan of this whole weekly video release thing either, what happened to the days of purchasing a course and having that course available?....I would not mind if we had something to focus on for a whole week but like I said so far we are still waiting, or it feels that way to me. At least with New masters weekly live lessons you get a good hour video to watch and assignments to do through the week. I know that is a different set up but ......yeah just frustrated at the moment. Sorry just needed to vent.
