I tried it once on one of the more environment friendly platforms, because I was curious. I am really into SiFi and I can imagine how the world will develop more and more into the VR direction and so I wanted to see what is happening and can be happening in a few years. But for now and for me I think it is time to wait, because I could not find a platform that is as environment friendly as possible while having active users, easy minting method and an intuitive interface/serach and so on. I don't know to me it feels all to early to being an option. But this a very subjective opinion, I don't know much about this big theme.

I had the same concerns with the carbon footprint but Im beginning to see NFTs as becoming essential to the future of the art biz and online marketing as social media is today. I think that there are a lot of resources and interest being generated to investing more into reducing the carbon footprint and suspect that it will be dramatically reduced within a few years. I think now is the time to get our feet wet and become experts in this field to take advantage of the rising tide.

Is that the error that 'comment has been removed?' I get that too, but only when the comment in the chain is behind the 'See more replies' drop down.

Yes. I think that is the same for me too. Katey is already on it!

Just curious to see how many here are jumping in on the NFT market. What do you all think about NFTs and how are you using them in your work?

I'm loving this community already! With so many creative and ambitious people in one place it's like a super charge to my own creative ambitions. I can't wait to connect with and learn from everyone.

Thanks! I've already added more to it but I want to work on it a bit more before I post an update on it. I should hopefully get some more work in on it later today!

Hey hey Proko Team! Just a heads up, whenever I get a notification of a comment added to a discussion I've started or am engaged in it give me an error when I click on it. I have to go find my post to see the comment that's been added.

Hey there! I share your enthusiasm for what this community could be. From what I know, many of the artists in the Proko 2.0 team are representational rather than abstract, so I have no idea when if at all those types of courses will be available on Proko, but if you're interested, I recommend checking out Art Prof: Create & Critique. It's a smaller youtube channel with a team of dedicated teachers and artists, and I've seen several instructional videos about abstract and surreal art. Many are critique videos, but those are valuable as well because they speak about what makes an abstract/surreal piece successful. Here's a few to check out: Abstract Acrylic Painting Techniques https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0nI9jroKX8 How to Critique Art: Abstract Paintings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVF4tdweSY0 Abstract Acrylic Painting Prompts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl9mpBdQYD0 How to Critique Art: Surreal Oil Paintings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP39tKR6OVk How to Critique Art: Surreal Paintings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2A2wPGkd0g They are also releasing a video titled: "Bad" Abstract Art Compositions in about a week, so stay tuned! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0_kLbv4WgQ Welcome to the community!

Oohh nice! I'm definitely going to go through these! Thanks for the share! I like to think I'm actually relatively decent at abstract art. I've only done one surrealist piece so far but I just figured as a creative, educational art community that I'm very excited to be a part of and see grow that we shouldn't neglect these artforms. They have a relevant place in art studies and art history. Especially since abstract painting can be an entry-level way to get started with art leading into the study of color theory and color harmony. It was really where I started and was nice low-hanging fruit that lead me from one principle to the next to the point where I'm now ready to start studying the human figure and anatomy. I feel like in the abstract world and abstract communities online there is too much of an attitude that anything goes and that there is no difference between good abstract art and bad. This is not a notion that I subscribe to at all. Good pieces of abstract definitely have many of the principles of art embodied within them as well as a very clear understanding of color harmonies. Anyway, Thanks for the awesome shares @Aiden Graham Cole! Much appreciated.

Hey there fellow aspiring artists! Just wanted to jump into the mix here and simply share what I’m working on this morning. Up until this project I’ve merely been dabbling at sculpting here and there not really knowing what to make. Last night I decided to start this bust of an alien creature I found on Pinterest. The original artwork this creature is based on was created by an artist that goes by Pascal Sguera on art station. Ive never watched any content on sculpting or how to sculpt yet but definitely will be diving into what’s available on this site to learn more. As the title of the post says I feel like this is my first real attempt and sculpting. It should be fun to see how it turns out! Here’s a link to the original artwork and artist https://www.artstation.com/artwork/l4b4z

First off, well done on this very awesome and useful platform! I'm super excited to see where it goes and how it grows. It should be interesting to see how this helps the online art community and artists like myself who are learning everything through online content and hard work. I do hope that in time there will be instructors and courses on abstract art and surrealism as well. I realize this is just the beginning but I just wanted to throw that out there. I can definitely see a boatload of ways this can grow and tons of courses that can be developed and added over time.
