Hello! These are my 5 thumbnail sketches for this month's challenge! It was definitely intimidating, but satisfying to see what I came up with for this challenge. I took inspiration from some of my references more than others

I agree with Tarren in that you should try to practice proportions more and keep working on gesture as well. Keep up the good work!

What are some good affordable easels to use for plein air?

Hello MJB! I would suggest trying out gesture. It can really help you improve the flow and movement of your figure drawings and prevent them from being stiff. I hope this tip helps!!

Hi @adri_art76 It will help to get some requirements out as the category can be very large... Do you need it to have a stylus/pen, or be compatible with one, or touch? What software do you use (just Photoshop) and will it be Windows-based (or Mac/Linux)? What size do you prefer (13" with external screen, 17")? Do you also want to do other things like productivity, gaming? Do you do complex or large art, or just general 'digital' pictures? Does it need to be lightweight for travel? With these questions answered we can narrow down the list a lot :)

Humm, if you go with conventional laptop+tablet way, you can pretty much choose anything you like. Nowadays computers easily get enough graphics power to do drawings and paintings, even 3D works that are not that heavy. So typically you don't need a dedicated graphics card. I have a Surface Pro 6, been using it for like 2 years or so, works great for painting. If budget is a concern, I would recommend a Surface Go 2, It's likely to be much cheaper than a conventional laptop+tablet combo, and it runs typical desktop softwares. Surface Pen is not _as good_ as wacom, but I find it's not to a point where it causes any problem to me. Only downside is the MS keyboard. They don't last... mine were broken recently. A usb one or a bluetooth one can get you going. Or, if you don't absolutely need to take it everywhere you go (as if you use a laptop for drawing, bringing a tablet is a hassle), you could look into some small boxy computers like Intel NUC or similar stuff, and you can then have a 24+ inch FHD screen with great colour range with almost the same budget as a conventional laptop. In this case you are gonna need a tablet. Or, you could look into using Wacom One (that has a screen) and connect it to your phone for drawing, that way you don't even need another computer at all.

I love your underwater comps! My favorites are B and E because the giant fish and great white shark help your images in terms of scale and really help in terms of composition as well.

Hello! I would suggest doing some warm ups doing various different lines (long,short, thin, thick etc.) that will definitely improve your line work over time. I would also suggest to go over the fundamentals in order to understand the structure and proportions of the head. Other than that it is a lovely piece!

Hi Eva ! I think taking a class can be very helpful to you in order to learn faster instead of figuring it out on your own. In terms of digital programs, it really doesn't matter what program you use if you are a beginner. There are a lot of free digital programs to choose from, but if you have some money you can purchase Clip Studio Paint( you pay only once) or you can absolutely go with Photoshop.

Your lights need highlights for sure and I think it would help to post your reference as well in order to see if proportions are correct.

Pretty excited about this platform, hopefully able to get into the community and learn a lot here (and get me out of the 'I'll just practice the fundamentals more' rut). I have an obscure subject interest in wasps and other insects, which makes it difficult to learn but also enjoyable. I really like traditional art (probably because I suck at digital art :p), particularly charcoal/pastel, though unfortunately I only recently discovered this wonderful media!

Hello! Hope you all are doing well and are also super excited for Proko 2.0. I'm from Germany and my art is mainly focused on realism. My mediums are graphite, coloured pencil, watercolour pencil, watercolour and airbrush. Arcylic and Oil are my next mediums to tend to :) I still am bound to reference pictures but I hope I'm learning a lot here about gesture and anatomy so I can draw more from my owm inagination :) Looking forward to be part of a wonderful community!
