The Mannequinization video was very helpful. I haven’t been following along as closely with the figure drawing series as the heads. I was drawing heads at the time those came out. I.e. right now I am not diligently doing the excercises. Marshall’s diagrams were very helpful, especially the example of drawing over the identical shape.
But also it helped when both of you were stern about what I thought were really beautiful looking drawings that were not showing the basic forms and jumping to contour.
Last night before seeing this I drew what I am sure is my best figure ever with clothes and hands and feet. But I had good references. I’d like to be able to do it again and again. But I am skipping steps. I’ll just be lucky if don’t practice and nail down these principles better.
So thanks for the critiques both of you.
Love this video guys! Marshall’s insight on visualizing a box to get the right shape and orientation of a sphere was VERY helpful. Thanks so much 🙂
Stan is an awesome guy, i love all his videos…… One day i’ll definately meet him
