My pencils break, almost all the time. I used conte and charcoal of different brands. I use a sharp razor and I'm super careful not to apply too much pressure, and then it just breaks. If doesn't break during sharpening, it will break during sanding. I end up going back to my clutch pencil with graphite. Seems trivial, but it's super frustrating. I don't know if it's because I buy them on amazon and they break during shipping. Any tips are welcome.
Very happy this course was made. Planning on watching, then drawing along with each lesson and then venturing off to use the Reilly method from reference with no instruction.
I can see so many things in this video that I recognize from artists I love but never knew where to even begin to emulate. Going to practice this a lot before going to the next video. Any suggested excercises?
I drew along the video, trying to follow the process for front/side/back poses. Depending on the pose, it wasn't always clear which line I was intended to draw, so I may have some weird stuff there and there. I need to spend some time studying what each rhythm means, I guess.
